How to Reserve Tickets and Pavilions for Expo 2025 Osaka (Step-by-Step)
Planning a visit to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan? Great choice. But before you go, there’s a reservation process you need to follow, especially if you want to enter the most popular pavilions without waiting in long lines. Fortunately, it’s straightforward. Here’s exactly how to do it.
Step 1: Buy Your Expo 2025 Ticket Now
First, you need an Expo 2025 ticket. We recommend purchasing from Klook, which will send you a PDF version that includes a unique 10-digit Ticket ID.
This Ticket ID is essential. You’ll use it to link your ticket to the official reservation system.
Step 2: Sign Up for an ExpoID
Go to the official Expo 2025 Osaka website and register for an ExpoID using your email address. This account will let you manage your ticket, make pavilion reservations, and set your visit dates.
Step 3: Link Your Ticket to Your ExpoID
After logging in with your ExpoID:
Click on "My Tickets"
Select "Additional Ticket Registration"
Enter the 10-digit Ticket ID from your Klook ticket
Click "Add"
Once linked, you’re ready to make reservations.
Step 4: Reserve Your Visit Date and Time
You can reserve your visit up to six months in advance. If your plans change, you can modify the date and time up to three times. Just go to "Reservations & Lottery" on the Expo 2025 website and choose your preferred date.
Example: If you're planning to visit on October 30, reservations open as early as April 30.
Step 5: Entering the Expo Site
On your visit day:
Open the official Expo 2025 Osaka app
Show the QR code in the “My Ticket” section
Use that code to enter the Expo grounds and access any pavilions you’ve booked
How Pavilion Reservations Work
Popular pavilions require advance reservations. There are two main ways to book: lottery and first-come, first-served.
Lottery System
There are two types of lotteries:
Two-Month Advance Lottery (apply two to three months before your visit)
Seven-Day Advance Lottery (apply eight days to one month before your visit)
For each lottery, you can select up to five pavilion and time slot combinations. You can mix different pavilions or choose multiple time slots for one.
Winning a slot is not guaranteed, since this is a random draw.
First-Come, First-Served Reservations
If you don’t win a lottery, there’s another chance. Pavilion slots open one to three days before your visit date on a first-come, first-served basis. Log in early and check availability.
How to Apply for Pavilion Reservations
Log in to your ExpoID account
Go to "My Tickets"
Select your registered ticket
Click "Apply for lottery with this content"
Choose your preferred pavilions and time slots
You’ll be entered into the lottery and notified if you win.
Where to Find Your Lottery Results
Results are posted in the "Messages" section of your Expo account.
For the Two-Month Lottery: Results are released two months before your visit
For the Seven-Day Lottery: Results are released seven days before your visit
Check your account regularly to stay updated.
Walk-In Pavilion Access
If you don’t get a reservation in advance, you still have options. After entering the Expo, you can use your phone to scan and register for available pavilions. This is also first-come, first-served and availability changes throughout the day.
