If you're planning a trip to Taiwan, here's something to factor into your itinerary: the government has officially confirmed on their Taiwan the Lucky Land website that the popular travel lottery will continue until September 30, 2025. A banner on the homepage now reflects this extension, following overwhelming participation from global tourists.
This confirmation comes after months of speculation and now gives travelers more confidence when planning trips in the second half of the year. It also aligns with Taiwan's broader efforts to boost tourism and attract independent travelers and small groups alike.
What Is Lucky Land?
Lucky Land is Taiwan’s way of welcoming travelers back. Each week, eligible visitors are randomly selected to receive NT$5,000 (around USD $155) in travel credits. These can be used for:
Hotel stays
Meals and cafes
MRT, trains, or buses
Shopping at partner stores (EasyCard supported)
You’ll need to register online before arriving to be eligible. It’s free, and the drawing happens after you pass through immigration.
Who Can Join?
This promo is open to foreign independent travelers who meet all the following:
Hold a non-Taiwanese passport
Stay in Taiwan for at least 3 days
Register on the official Lucky Land website before arrival
There's also a separate incentive program for tour groups of four or more people staying three nights or longer. These groups may receive up to NT$50,000 in travel perks.
Why It Was Extended
Taiwan’s tourism board says the decision to extend was driven by strong engagement from travelers and positive impacts on local businesses. Since launching in 2023, Lucky Land has helped draw independent travelers, especially solo travelers and small groups to lesser-known cities and attractions across the island.
